Cramlington Sterilisation Suite was a bespoke new-build facility for an NHS Trust such that they were able to undertake all departmental equipment sterilisation in-house.
The 2 storey facilty has the sterilisation operations on the ground floor along with the ancillary storage, deliveries and gowning facilites. The first floor is occupied with plant and staff facilities – including change rooms and staff room / canteen.
A significant positive for this project was the off-site fabrication of the M&E installation as well as the 3D co-ordination of all design disciplines to facilitate a smoother build on site due to the limited clashes and errors that had already been designed out before materials and equipment procured.
