Norder have been employed by London Luton Airport to produce the RIBA Stage 3 design documents (Site information & Works Information) for seven new Code C stands alongside the reconstruction of Taxiway Echo. This included careful planning and verification of the reference design, to ensure that the scheme was feasible, prior to Tender.
Through RIBA stages 4 and 5, Norder have undertaken the role as the ‘design guardian’ for the Airport, ensuring that the Contractor’s proposal meets or exceeds what is required within the Works Information.
The seven stands are located in two locations across the airfield and can accommodate aircraft up to the Airbus A321-XLR. The stands and taxiway links are formed of a mixture of airfield quality concrete (PQC) and airfield stone mastic asphalt (SMA) totalling a paved area of 35,500m².
